Weldolets are self-reinforced branch connections used to link a smaller (branch pipe) to a larger (run pipe) pipe. They are composed of forged steel and come in a range of shapes and sizes, such as 90-degree and 45-degree elbows, tees, and crosses. Olets are commonly employed in high-pressure and high-temperature environments.
Types of weldolet used in piping
- Weldolet
- Sockolet
- Threadolet
- Elbolet
- Sweepolet
- Latrolet
- Weldolet
It is used for butt-weld branch connection where standard tee is not available due to size restriction and the piping is of critical/high pressure service. Weldolet makes 90-deg branch, full-size or reducing, on straight pipe. Closer manifolding is possible than with tees. Flat-based weldolet are available for connecting to pipe caps and vessel heads.
Sockolet
It is used for socket welding branch connection which require reinforcing pad. Sockolet makes a 90-deg branch, full-size or reducing on straight pipe. Flat-based sockolets are available for branch connections on pipe caps and vessel heads.
Threadolet
It is used for threaded branch connections. Threadolet makes a 90-deg branch, full-size or reducing on straight pipe. Flat-based Threadolet are available for branch connections on pipe caps and vessel heads.
Elbolet
It is used for branch connection on elbows and have the profiles made to suit the elbow.
Sweepolet
Sweepolet is integrally reinforced butt weld branch connection. Sweepolet makes a 90-deg reducing branch from the main run of pipe. Primarily developed for high-yield pipe used in oil and gas transmission lines. Provides good flow pattern, and optimum stress distribution.
Latrolet
Latrolet is used for branch connection at an angle. It makes a 45-deg branch from the main pipe. Mostly latrolets are used in the flare relief lines where the branches are going to connect with the main flare headers, Latrolets are always connected towards the flow to flare.
